USA Vocalist + Pro Guitar Instructor + Professional Educator = Soulful Songcraft
HOMEBREW was formed in 2004 by New Orleans born Nolan Wiltz and Felixstowe's Mark Stuart. With the addition of Framlingham's Mark Robinson in 2005 the trio were able to finish a honorably mentioned (BBC RADIO SUFFOLK DJ Stephen Foster's # 3 in submissions) CD called CONSCIENCE CALL. In 2008 they released another well crafted CD called STEALIN' TIME. They share an appreciation for the music of contemporary artists Ben Harper, Eric Bibb and Corey Harris. They include tracks from the aforementioned to accent their own originals. Elements of blues, gospel, soul , folk and rock are integral parts of their compositions. Mark Stuart, stellar guitarist of seemingly endless talents weaves intricate, fluid and also delicate voicings / phrasings. Mark Robinson, and excellent singer in his own right provides backing vocals, percussive and rhythmic second guitar as well as lyrics on original songs. Nolan, lead vocalist, harmonica player / percussion and lyricist dips into his southern USA roots to provide a link to that culture. Resonator guitar, washboards, foot tambourine, ebo, ukulele, bass ukulee, kazoo and other "quirky"instruments are in the mix!.
Homebrew plays good timey, but also soulfully moving music. There is and air of honest spontaneity in their performances. Well worth a listen. Let em' brew something up for you.
